Major Project Idea

Lines

This picture represents line because the way it is and the way its only lines
(Monoclinic sulfur)

Shape

This picture represents shape because it has circles and other type of shapes on it.
(Palladium)

Color

This picture represents color because it has different shades of purple, yellow, pink, blue, Etc...

(Bismuth)
Value

This picture represents value since it has dark and light shades. Also, its something used in the Element of Art. (Photography)
(Lead)
Form

This picture shows exactly what form needs; Length, width, And Height.
(Gold crystal)
Texture

This picture also represents texture because it has bumpy areas. the pictures above also have bumpy ares but this one fits perfectly
(Oxidized arsenic)
Space

And finally, Space. This one has some free space on some areas where the crystals (?) are. Some space for more. also in the very top it has space as the bottom.
(Platinum)

Elements of Art

Lines

1) Lines are marks made by a pointed tool: brush, pencil, pen, etc. Lines can vary in width, direction, curvature, length, or color.

This is an example of lines because it has curves, straight lines and S lines.

Shapes

2) Shapes are formed wherever the ends of a continuous line meet. Geometric shapes such as circles, triangles or squares have perfect, uniform measurements and don't often appear in nature. Organic shapes are associated with things from the natural world, like plants and animals.

This is an example of shapes since it has rectangles

Color

Color wheels show the primary colors, secondary colors, and the tertiary (intermediate) colors. They also show the relationships between complementary colors across from each other, such as blue and orange; and analogous (similar or related) colors next to each other such as yellow, green, and blue. Black and white may be thought of as colors but, in fact, they are not. White light is the presence of all color; black is the absence of reflected light and therefore the absence of color.

Another example of colors because it has the blue, yellow, brown, red, and other type.

Value
Value, or tone, refers to dark and light; the value scale refers to black and white with all gradations of gray in between.  Value contrasts help us to see and understand a two-dimensional work of art.
This is another good example it shows the dark, light, black, and white.
Form
Form describes objects that are three-dimensional, having length, width, and height.

it shows different types of forms.
Texture
Texture can be rough, bumpy, slick, scratchy, smooth, silky, soft, prickly--the list is endless.  Texture refers to the surface quality, both simulated and actual, of artwork.
This painting has sharp edges and soft lines (background)
Space
Space refers to distances or areas around, between, or within components of a piece. Space can be positive (white or light) or  negative (black or dark), open or closed, shallow or deep, and two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
This has space in he background.
Balance

Balance is the comfortable or pleasing arrangement of things in art.  There are three different types of balance: symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial. The human figure is symmetrically balanced; the same on the left and right side. The tree is asymmetrically balanced; its branches are not distributed equally on each side, but their total weight is balanced left and right. The sun is an example of radial balance; all its rays are equal in length from the center.
This has balanced in the background and in the person.

Contrast

Contrast is created by using elements that conflict with one another. Often, contrast is created using complementary colors or extremely light and dark values. Contrast creates interest in a piece and often draws the eye to certain areas. It is used to make a painting look interesting.
This is an example for contrast light and dark.
Emphasis
Emphasis in the focal area of an artwork gives it importance.  An artist may stress some elements of the design over others. The eye of the viewer will focus on the area of emphasis or center of interest first, then take in the rest of the composition.
This picture is centered and it takes your attention.

Movement

Movement in an artwork means the artist is taking viewers on a trip through the work by means of lines, edges, shapes, and colors often leading to the focal area.  Movement is a visual flow through the composition. It can be the suggestion of motion in a design as you move from object to object by way of placement and position.  Directional movement can be created with a value pattern. It is with the placement of dark and light areas that you can move your attention through the format.
this is a good example of movement.
Pattern
Patterns are made in art when the same shapes or elements are repeated again and again.  Pattern uses the elements of art in planned or random repetitions to enhance surfaces of paintings or sculptures.
Faces are getting repeated.

Rhythm
Rhythm is the repetition of shapes, lines, and forms.  Rhythm is a movement in which some elements recurs regularly.  Like a dance, it will have a flow of objects that will seem to be like the beat of music.
These people are dancing. its rhythm

Unity
Unity means that all elements in an artwork are in harmony.  Unity brings together a composition with similar units.  For example, if your composition was using wavy lines and organic shapes you would stay with those types of lines and not put in even one geometric shape.
Uses dark, light and bright color. Also it has harmony (kinda)

Photo Composition Shoot

Lines

This is an example of lines i took out the window and shoot by myself (S line is where students walk)

Rule Of Thirds

This was an easy picture to take since it has to be out of the center. (This was outside of the office to the center of the school)

Framing

I had nothing to take pictures of framing, but then, i found this little guy and took a dark, but cute picture of him (Its from the same tree in rule of thirds)

Balance

This is just a random picture of these guys but i thought that maybe it could represent a good picture of balance

Simplicity

While taking the pictures, i looked at the window, and it took me less than three seconds and thought it was simple.

Avoiding Mergers

I had to stand on a chair to get a perfect picture without mergers but to be honest, i don't think its good as i think it is....i tried.

Reflection

I think i did pretty good but there was some struggles and some distractions during the time i took pictures. Also i tried to get closer to the subjects but would easily get distracted. But thats a Mistake i won't make again. To improve my picture taking, i am gonna try to get closer, concentrate, and only focus not he object and not the background.

Cameras - Beginners Guide to Photograpy

The camera

1) The camera obscura its an effect that can only be achieved in a dark room with a hole in a wall where the light will come and it will focused and the outside scene will be projected on the opposite
wall  upside down

2) In the 17th century, the camera came one step closer to men when Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens did a perfection on the understanding of the optics and the process on making the high quality glass lenses

3) The parts of the first modern camera were glass lenses, a little dark box and, the film. (The film was the important missing piece)

4) Modern Digital Cameras differ from Niepce's camera because Digital Cameras are easy to use, it can focus, they point and shoot. While Niecpce's camera it would take hours to take a picture, and it wold come out blurry but both cameras work the same. They both have lenses, exposes the film and it needs light for it to pass through the lens and it still gives you a photograph.

5) Digital cameras need a electronic sensor called a CCD, an reusable memory card or storage to save the picture.

Camera modes

6) The difference from an Auto mode and Program mode is that Auto cameras control exposure and flash. Most of the cameras will have a label like ''Auto'' or ''A'' for short as Program mode has a smile ''p''. In program mode, you just point and shoot and get to control other camera settings as flash or focus.

7) The portrait mode is used to attempt to blur the background while the camera tries to use the fastest available lens setting (or aperture)

8)  The sports mode is used to freeze a motion and its required for the camera to use the highest shutter speed foible for perfect picture.

The Half Press

9) The half press is used for the camera to focus. When the camera is focusing, it will show some blinking dots (a green one usually) and it will make a beeping sound telling you that its ready to shoot the picture.(make sure the camera its in focus lock). when the camera is in focus lock it s ready to shoot the picture and be carful to not shake the camera. (it'll come out blurry).

Controlling flash

10) When taking a picture, theres gonna be a symbol on the camera with a circle, an zig-zag arrow and a line across it. This symbol represents or indicates they theres no flash because sometimes theres some pictures that look better without the flash. (It makes it more dramatic0.

11) Theres gonna be another symbol with an arrow (zig-zag) and the word "Auto" at the right of the arrow. This symbol indicates that flash mode is on and when taking a picture, it will tell if it needs more light. If it needs more light, it will use flash automatically.

Introduction to Exposure

12) If the picture has too much natural light, it will be washed out. (or ruined)

13) If the picture doesn't has too much light, it will be too dark to see the details.

40 greatest photos ever

1) pretty imagery

The reason I picked this photo it’s because the content, color, and the brightness makes it unique in a way. It express the beauty of this world that we are to blind and ignorant to see for ourselves.

The reason I choose this picture its because it’s the first picture ever taken on the earth in Apollo 8 mission in 1968.

2) Surprising content.

The reason I picked this photo its because it has a really deep meaning among the flower and the gun representing “No War”

The picture has a meaning that most of the people still don’t understand or ignore. This picture was the one that became a symbol “Flower Power” and later became a movement to peace and love in the protest in The Vietnam War on October 21, 1967.

 3) Emotionally

The reason I picked this photo its because it reminds the world of the tragic event on 9/11 accident of the crashes of the plains in the Twin Towers where many people died.

This picture shows Robert Peraza pausing at his sons name on the 9/11 Memorial during the tenth anniversary ceremonies at the site of the World Trade Center. It’s a message to love the closest people close to you.

4) Interesting composition

I picked this photo because it looks like a work of art by the love of three sisters. Each picture was taken in different time. Unfortunately, one of the sisters passed away before the third picture.

This picture contains the love and power of three sisters. This picture looks more like a work of art. This picture will remain on the hearts of the sisters.
